In rare instances, a Congratulations to the winners of the 2017 ASLO Photo Contest! publisher has elected to have a "zero" moving wall, so their current Limnology and Oceanography (L&O) publishes research articles, reviews, and comments about all aspects of the sciences of limnology and oceanography. Limnology and Oceanography: Methods will consider manuscripts whose primary focus is methodological, and that deal with problems in the aquatic sciences. As opposed to a scientific article, they are written in more of a newspaper or magazine style, meaning that the writing should be engaging. All material, files, logos and trademarks within this site are properties of their respective organizations. Site-specific studies, laboratory experiments, and modeling exercises will be considered only to the extent they contribute to a broader understanding of aquatic sciences. available in JSTOR and the most recently published issue of a journal. – Introducing the Dissertation Registry (DR), Career Corner – Take a break from your research to grow professionally, Call for Applications: Raelyn Cole Editorial Fellowship – L&O Letters, Introducing the Handbook for International Research Collaborations, L&O Letters Early Career Publication Honor – Call for Applicants, Deadline extended: proposals for Letters Special Issue “Increasing Salinity in Freshwater and Coastal Ecosystems”, Special Issue on Linking Metagenomics to Aquatic Microbial Ecology and Biogeochemical Cycles, Special Issue on Microplastics in marine and freshwater organisms: Presence and potential effects, Call for papers: Limnology and Oceanography Special Issue on Nonlinear Dynamics, Resilience, and Regime Shifts in Aquatic Communities & Ecosystems, Call for papers: Limnology and Oceanography: Letters Special Issue on Increasing Salinity in Freshwater and Coastal Ecosystems, SciComm Social hour: A new way to deliberate outreach, OSM 2020 Science Communication Field Guide, ASLO Signs Letter Opposing Potential Trump Executive Order. Journal of Oceanology and Limnology (JOL) aims to disseminate original research articles in the forms of review, research paper, and note. The mission of the Department of Limnology and Bio-Oceanography is to gain and communicate scientific knowledge on the ecology of pelagic and benthic life in inland waters and marine ecosystems ranging from mountain streams to saline lakes and from coastal seas to the deep ocean including hydrothermal vents. These seminal works represent the first part of our journey to understand the limnology of these large ecosystems. Proposals and inquiries for Special Issues should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief of L&O: Methods. Congratulations to the winners of the 2017 ASLO Photo Contest!
